I agree that Google is a dangerous site to search on regarding health issues. My sister Google’s everything to do with her health, and questions why is this happening and she’ll put in her symptoms that she is having, and it comes up with some off the wall responses. This puts fear in her and does more harm for her than good.

The internet does offer good information when your pregnant in regards to how big your baby is and what is developing at the different stages. They even have Apps that you can buy on your phone that will help you keep track of your pregnancy. WebMD is a good website to use when looking for health information. Although as you said it is still important to talk to your PCP so that they can give you an accurate diagnosis, but looking for information before hand can give you questions to ask and different symptoms you might not have thought about to point out to them.

It’s true that relying on the internet for diagnosis is not always a good idea. However, when my daughter was pregnant she did learn alot of helpful information about how the baby was developing at each stage and some expectations while she was pregnant as well as delivery. I think there are well regarded sites such as WebMD that are accurate, we just need to remember that every person’s body is different and not every diagnosis and recovery will be the same. As with all things it’s good to get general information but when it comes to our personal health we need to go to our personal physician who can look at the whole person along with history etc. and make an accurate diagnosis, or treatment plan.
